Ten Commandments...

1.I am the  Lord, thy God.


I am the  Lord, thy God... are the first words of the Ten Commandments....This introduction firmly places Yahweh as the supreme God.

In the Hebrew text the "the Lord" portion of the first commandment is יהוה, which is romanized as Yahweh.

The first commandment establishes God with his proper name, Yahweh, setting him apart from other gods which had come before the gods of Egypt

. "I am the Lord, your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery."

2.Thou shall bring no false idols before me


"Thou shall bring no false idols before me," is the second commandments which builds on the all important first commandment

A warning against worshiping such as statues or likenesses of false gods and Idolatry

Jesus spoke and said, “love the Lord, thy God, with all your heart, soul, and mind.” Saying that this was the greatest of commandments.
Do not take the name of the Lord in vain

Do not take the name of the Lord in vain," prohibits the blasphemous use of the Lord's name being honest, And some how not inviting a situation in which one might be invoke the Lord’s name in order to earn credibility..



4.Remember The Sabbath And keep It Holy

Remember the Sabbath and keep it holy.

The Sabbath, is the day of resting. the commandments tell believers to follow the Lord’s example and labor for six days, and rest on the seventh. According to the book of Genesis, God created the world, and everything in it in six days, and then rested on the seventh.Exodus 20:8 -11

5.Honor Thy Mother And Thy Father

Honor Thy Mother And Thy Father with respet

"Honor thy father and thy mother, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you." - Exodus 20:11

6.Thou Shall Not Kill

meaning to break, or slash unto pieces it means to kill or murder


7.Thou shall not commit adultery

Persons engaging in the sexual activity is married to a third person.


8.Thou shall not steal

Thou shall not kidnap or take things from others



9.Thou shall not bear false witness agains your neighbor

Love thy neighbor as yourself." - Mark 12:31

Wrongfully testimony is among the things that defile a person.


10.Thou shall not covet thy neighbor’s wife

Thou shall not covet thy neighbor’s wife

Anything that belongs to your neighbors.you shall not covet your neighbor's house.
